Leo Magnus

Sermo de natale Domini (Fragment)

Lorsch, 2. Hälfte 9. Jh.

A Lorsch fragment was used for the front guardleaf. It is stuck to the inside of the front cover. The left column of the front page was split into two images, in order to make the present tradition apparent. About one third of the right column on the reverse side is not visible as it has been stuck over.
The bible (-commentary-)fragment (Ps 49,1-17 and the remains of Dn 3,69-88) in gothic cursive script (14th/15th century) used for the front pastedown was not written in Lorsch.
