Psalterium ("Ludwigspsalter")

St-Bertin, wohl 2. Viertel 9. Jh.

The splendid psalter was presumably made for Louis the German (+ 876). The kneeling figure portrayed in the crucifixion scene added in the late 9th century on fol. 120r can be identified as his grandson Arnulf of Carinthia (+ 899) according to an erased inscription.
