The tonary – a compilation of Gregorian chants organized according to the eight psalm tones – was in the possession of Bernot of Reichenau (+ 1048). The tonary with its prologue on music theory belongs to one of the most well known treatise on music from the Middle Ages.
The original end of this manuscript is today held in St. Paul i. Lavanttal, Stiftsarchiv, Cod. 110/6, which (due to an inscription by a benefactor on fol. 1r) is accredited to the so-called Oudalricus-peccator-Group.
