Sacramentarium Gregorianum Hadrianum (Fragment)

Lorsch, Mitte oder 2. Hälfte 9. Jh.

This and the Augsburg, UB, Cod. I.2.4° 1 fragment belong together.
They are the remains of one of the few surviving illuminated Carolingian manuscripts from Lorsch. The fragment from Erlangen with a canon missae holds the so-called Te-igitur-page, the fragment from Augsburg with prayers for Whit week contains a decorated initial page depicting the miracle of Pentecost. The fragment from Erlangen also holds an addition with names of some of Lorsch’s abbots and benefactors, who were to be remembered during liturgy.
