Lorsch Manuscripts Worldwide

The Lorsch manuscripts of the former monastic library and scriptorium are today scattered all over the world. However, in particular Carolingian inventories, medieval exlibris and palaeographic research by Bernhard Bischoff and Hartmut Hoffmann have enabled us to localize 331 original Lorsch manuscripts and fragments, which are distributed over 309 shelfmarks in 73 libraries around the world, and to once again unite them virtually (see Project Description).

Manuscripts, which according to Bernhard Bischoff and/or Hartmut Hoffmann are not connected with Lorsch, are documented in the separate list "Further Manuscripts".
